John Simpson is a highly seasoned public affairs professional specializing in the carriage and distribution of independent television networks. John represents clients before state and federal legislators and regulators where he provides strategic communications and public affairs advice, creates and manages effective coalitions and develops innovative media strategies.

With 15 years of experience working with both state and federal officials, John has also built unique knowledge and insight into the workings of government. He’s cultivated “insider” expertise and built lasting connections. John has spearheaded successful public affairs campaigns in some of the country’s largest, most high-profile

mergers and acquisitions involving companies such as Sinclair Broadcasting Group-Tribune Media, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, Comcast-NBC Universal, Comcast-Time Warner Cable, AT&T-DIRECTV, Charter-Time Warner Cable and AT&T-Time Warner. John has also worked on several high-profile legislative initiatives in the Georgia legislature, including the Transportation Funding Act (HB 170 in 2015) and the Georgia Space Flight Act (HB 1 in 2017).

John’s clients have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Politico, the Atlanta Journal Constitution and dozens of local and regional publications. His current roster of state and federal clients includes: Spaceport Camden, FWD.us, Newsmax TV, RideTV, Faith Justice and Truth Project and the Save Journalism Project.

Prior to joining Capitol Resources LLC, John was a Senior Account Executive at Hope Beckham Inc, an Atlanta based public relations firm and a Public Policy Consultant at Wiley Rein LLP, the largest telecommunications law firm in the United States. He also served on the legislative staff of former Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI) and impressively managed several state and federal political campaigns.
